The Battle for Wuse is fought through a market. Rows of stalls under red, blue, green and yellow tin roofs stretch across the field, with kiosks, wrecked buses and a tall market gate, all on bare red laterite earth.
The real Wuse
Wuse is one of the busiest commercial districts in Abuja, and Wuse Market is one of the largest markets in the city, with traders selling everything from food to fabrics and electronics. The game borrows that crowded, colourful layout for a battlefield where cover is everywhere but very little of it stops a bullet.
The battlefield
The ground rolls gently and is the red-brown laterite soil found across the region. Market stalls stand in long rows: four thin posts, a low counter and a tin roof. The counters stop rounds, but the roofs and posts do not, so a stall hides you from view without protecting you. Burnt-out buses are the strongest cover on the field. The green market gate stands near your starting line.
How the enemy holds it
The enemy’s lines cut across the rows of stalls, and its soldiers move between them. Expect enemies to appear from between stalls at short range. Counterattacks come round the ends of the rows.
Tactics
- Hawk’s drone scan is excellent here: it shows defenders hidden behind the stalls before you walk into them.
- Don’t stop behind a stall roof thinking you are safe. Get behind a counter, a bus or the enemy’s own sandbags.
- The shotgun is deadly in the narrow lanes between stall rows.
- Keep squads moving down separate lanes so one burst can’t catch them all.
Side missions
Hostages are held between the stall rows just behind each line, so you will usually reach them through a lane. Clear the lane first, then switch your squads to Hold while you free them.
