Weapons Guide: Rifles, SMG, Sniper, Shotgun and Armour in Abuja World: Frontline

You choose one primary weapon before each battle in the Operator menu, and can drive vehicles with heavier guns in the field. This guide compares them so you can pick the right tool for the district you are fighting in.

Weapon stats

Range is shown in metres. Damage is per bullet against a soldier with 100 health; a headshot does double.

Aiming down sights nearly doubles every weapon's reach and does extra damage.

AR-15 assault rifle

The all-rounder and the best choice for most battles. It is accurate at medium range, fast enough to win close fights, and its 30-round magazine lasts. Fire in bursts to keep the spread tight, and aim down sights for anything beyond 50 metres.

MP5 submachine gun

The fastest-firing weapon. Each bullet does less damage, but the sheer rate of fire wins close fights in trenches and ruins. It loses accuracy quickly at range, so it suits the shelled outskirts and players who like to push.

M24 sniper rifle

One shot, one kill. A body shot takes almost all of a soldier's health and a headshot always kills. The scope gives you a full magnified view and the rifle sways a little, so breathe and wait for the crosshair to settle. It is slow and weak up close: stay behind your squads and pick off defenders in the enemy line, especially enemy snipers on high ground.

M870 shotgun

Huge damage at very short range and almost none beyond it. Use it when your squads are about to storm a position and you want to clear trenches, or to defend your safe zone when the enemy comes to free a prisoner.

Vehicles

Tap the TANK button near a vehicle to climb in. The armoured truck carries a .50 calibre machine gun with a 100-round belt: fast, mobile and good against infantry. The battle tank's 120mm gun bursts where it lands, which makes it the answer to dug-in machine-gun nests and enemy armour. Vehicles can be destroyed: when yours is badly damaged, jump out before it burns.

Grenades

You carry three grenades in each battle. They are the best way to clear an enemy crouched behind cover. Grenadiers in your army throw them on their own at defenders between about 10 and 28 metres away.
